Tatras in your pocket

TatryInfo is the first free smartphone app for a Polish national park, using innovative NFC (near-frequency) technology. it's a handy source of practical info, facilitating planning a stay in Tatra mountains: weather, security, must see places, natural environment, attractions and cultural events.
On multiple entrances to Tatra National Park info plaques will be set up, to enable tourists to download the app to their phones, and on tourist tracks similar plaques, serving to obtain vital info on the go.
TatryInfo app is not aimed to replace traditional publications - guides or maps. We wanted it to become a new platform of communicating content and values brought by organizations such as the Tatra National Park - said Paweł Skawiński, director of the TPN.
Current version of TatryInfo operates under Android and is just a beginning, soon new updates and options will be added, assure TPN officers. The option of paying the entrance fee via NFC technology will also be considered in the future.
