Precious Health

Taking us back to the days when medicine was as much speculation as it was science, the National Museum's Precious Health exhibition traces the history of medicine through a variety of curious objects. Items on display include antique pharmacy furnishings, anatomical models carved in ivory, as well as a ceramic vessel of Mithridate - the infamous semi-mythical poison antidote commonly used throughout the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Precious Health marks the 60th anniversary of the Medical Academy in Wroclaw and the 200th anniversary of the Department of Medicine.
