World Guitar Day

Tue 1st
May

Wroclaw, Poland has become the international epicentre of the celebration of World Guitar Day, thanks to renowned Wroclaw musician Leszek Cichonski's organization of the 'Thanks Jimi Festival.' Since 2003 the Thanks Jimi Festival has grown into the largest guitar event in the world, with satellite events happening across the world, many of which will hopefully be broadcast live during this year's celebration. The highlight of each year's festival is the congregation of thousands of guitar players in Wroclaw's Rynek Glowny. Last year, the record was set and enshrined in the Guinness Book of World Records for "Largest Guitar Orchestra" as a confirmed 1581 guitar players played Hendrix's "Hey Joe" in unison. This year promises to be even larger than last, so don't miss your chance to see a spectacle happening in such a ridiculous scale nowhere else.
