The Haunted Manor

Sat 8th

Composed in the 19th century by Stanislaw Moniuszko, this opera is a well known favourite in Poland. While the story is a lighthearted romance, it was initially banned by the controlling Russian government for its patriotic tone. If you're just in the city for a few days it's a wonderful way to experience Polish culture as it includes many classic Polish songs and dances such as the Mazurka and the Polonaise. Check out the info link below for performance details. This is the first event scheduled for the opera's 2012/2013 season.
