This esoteric competition and festival is peculiar to Wroclaw, and one of the favourite events on the city's calendar. Now in its twenty ninth year the Przeglad Piosenki Aktorskiej (as it is known in Polish) will be once more showcasing a heady mix of theatre and song courtesy of acting recitals, stage performances, cabaret and concerts.

Highlights for 2008 will include New York rockers Gogol Bordello due to play the Wytwórnia Filmów Fabularnych on the 5th (tickets 80PLN, 8:30pm); the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain who will perform in Wroclaw's Contemporary Theatre, (tickets 40PLN, 7pm); Anja Garbarek at the Capitol Music Theatre (tickets 100PLN, 9:30pm - check out our May events and you can see her father too!) and a rare appearance by jazz bassist extraordinaire Avishai Cohen at Impart (tickets 60 PLN, 5:30pm).
