Concert: Beirut

As part of the Malta Theatre Festival, every year a concert titled "Americana" takes place. This year's guest from across the Atlantic will be the band Beirut. Though perhaps band is the wrong description; Beirut is the brainchild of American Zach Condon. Beirut blends accordions and trumpets with guitars and keys in some of the most strange, but beautiful, compositions, all layered beneath Condon's distinctive vocals. Beirut draws inspiration from everything from folklore to gypsy music, as well as contemporary independent music. This is one concert that shouldn't be missed, even amidst all of the Malta madness!
