With event listings widely listed online in Russian or Belarusian only, we took the effort to share some of the most important and most interesting upcoming events in our events calendar. From rock concerts in arenas to chamber music performances in intimate venues - Minsk is where Belarusians go to see the best of entertainment from the region and the world.

The Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre is one of the best choices for visitors in Minsk, with its world-class performances of classic and contemporary works. Performances take place throughout the year, except in the summer season.

For music, try the Belarusian State Philharmonic, or the Palace of the Republic, which hosts concerts from a wide variety of groups. Smaller concerts by local groups performing anything from jazz to punk rock take place throughout the year across Minsk's many live music venues and clubs. Or to see a big international star, try the Minsk Arena (which recently hosted a concert by American electronic music star Moby).

Minsk also hosts several great festivals, including the Listapad film festival and the Minsk Blues festival. But some of the most popular large-scale events in Minsk, and Belarus in general, are national holidays. Most notably: Independence Day and Victory Day, which are celebrated with large parades, and Minsk City Days, which is filled with fun events on the streets and fireworks at night.
