Editor's review

The prize-winning Goldwasser restaurant is well worth investigating, not least in the summer months when there's a gracious ivy-clad terrace where you can sit and watch the world go by. The restaurant has a classic flavour and there is a lot of attention to detail. The menu is wide-ranging with everything from traditional Polish pierogi to treats from nearby sea. Round it all off with a drop of Goldwasser, Gdansk's famed liqueur that's served with genuine gold flakes.

Today, December 8, 2019, afternoon, I visited this restaurant. Terrible waitress service. Shoddily. The waitress incorrectly and rudely communicated with me! I reported this to the Manager, and the Manager did not want to understand this situation, he was rude and insulted me.

I Don't recommend this restaurant!

As said earlier, this is a fantastic nice place! The potatoes that was "missing" is just an internal joke with Thomas. Just to make it clear.

Fantastic restaurant, food, service and wine! The duo Foie Gras was just amazing, same was lobstersoup and halibut. Wonderful tastes all put delicious and fresh together. Austrian wine was also very Nice. Our caring waiter Thomas recommended a wonderful cheescake. We sat on the nice terrasse, and Thomas took good care of us (although he forgot the potatoes..)

Imponerende meny, men tilbehør og krydderet blir overdøver av smaken av kanel. Vi bestilte folie Gras, salat, cowboy biff og villsvin. Maten var ok, men ikke mere en det. Hyggelig betjening.

The food and service was outstanding. We had garlic king prawns for 2 a superb dish and a steak which was as good or probably better than most. I come from Australia where steak dinners and king prawn meals are common and we are very hard task masters. I would recommend this place and consider it excellent.

Probably Gdansk's most famous restaurant! I only ate once here about a year ago, but it was quite an experience!

Wie Gdansk/Danzig bezoekt, moet ongetwijfeld even langs GOLDWASSER.

Both the service and the food here were excellent, and the latter much less than I had expected to pay. A very pleasant if unusual environment. There are plenty of nooks and crannies yet an al fresco feel, probably owing to the cobblestone floor.

Ignore the reviews below. I was there March 7th 09 and I have to say it was great. Friendly waiter who spoke excellent English. The food was lovely and not over priced at all. An interesting and well worth a visit.

Nice restaurant but I found it all a bit cramped. I like to sprawl out after a big dinner and relax. Considering it's reputation as one of the more upmarket restaurants in Gdansk I have to say that I am in agreement with one of the other comments in that I found the food OK but a bit bland.

Beautiful surroundings!

BOOOring food! The food was visually ok but when the taste is forgotten before you step out the front door after a meal I regard this as a sign that the kitchen staff are not enjoying their work....

This is a great restaurant for people-watching! Quite pricey, but the waitresses are pretty, and in the summer, so are lots of people walking past on the quay. (By the way the vodka with gold leaves in it - well, it just tastes like normal vodka but costs more!)

Ive never been in a restraunt with such a historic feel. The Goldwasser drink has a rich history and this restraunt reflects that heratige. Good food, service and all the rest, but the gold flakes and warm feeling provided by their namesake are what will make you happy.
