British conductor to direct Vratislavia Cantans

Renowned British conductor Paul McCreesh has been nominated as the artistic director of the largest music festivals held in the western city of Wroclaw- the Vratislavia Cantans. The head of the Wroclaw philharmonics Andrzej Kosendiak has taken over as the general director of the festival.

Paul Mc Creesh is a Londoner, a graduate of the Manchester University and a violin player. The Classic CD magazine has listed Paul McCreesh among the 100 best world conductors. During a conference in Warsaw today the British artist said he hopes to maintain the successive editions of the Vratislavia Cantans on the best world level with the best world musicians performing. The former director of Vratislavia Cantans Lidia Geringer dOedenberg is now representing Poland in the European Parliament.
