600 years ago, Lithuanians and Poles laid waste to the Teutonic Knights at one of the key confrontations of the medieval era: The Battle of Zalgiris (Grunwald to Poles, Tannenberg to Germans). Earlier this year, the presidents of Poland and Lithuania took part in commemorative tributes in Cracow and on the battlefield itself. Hero of the clash was the Lithuanian Duke Jogaila (Jagiello), who had been invited by the Polish nobles to be joint monarch, thus beginning the Jagiellon dynasty's reign over the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. This show brings to life the historic battle.
