The Holocaust Museum in Vilnius is arguably one of the most important branches of the Vilna Gaon Jewish State Museum.
Also known as the Green House, it tells the story of Lithuania's significant Jewish minority - all the way from their arrival in the country to the genocide of the second world war. Among the 'Litvak' folk of Lithuania were poets, writers, musicians, academics, artists and more, but 94 per cent of them perished at the hands of the Nazis - along with many Lithuanians.
