Before writing, people were leaving traces of their lives in what is now Lithuania. The musuem at the Old Arsenal has on display many of these artifacts, dating from some 11,000 years before the birth of Christ to the birth of the nation itself, in the 13th century AD.
The permanent exhibition and knowledgeable staff are a great way to get to grips with the history of this part of the Baltic world, and to explore its prehistory. The museum also offers valuable and intriguing insights into the everyday lives of folk living some 13,000 years ago, and into the culture and traditions of Lithuania.
