Brings back wonderful memories, on my visits t0 Vienna my big brother used to take me there for a nice meal in a wonderful atmosphere. I still have the Speisekarte and Getränkeliste, both framed and hanging in my house - what memories ❣️
Why is everyone talking about this place in the past tense? I ate at the Stadtbeisl on Monday, September 19, 2022. (And it was wonderful)

Thank you for keeping this restaurant's memory "alive". It was my favorite place. I can still feel the warmth, the visual splendor of the special serving of the soups, the Hubertus bier, and the superb smells and flavors of the food
It was a magical place where I took my girlfriend in the 50's, my daughter in the 70's and, as an expat, my nephews in the 80's. I could cry when I sttroll down Naglergasse now. Honestly.
The Stadt Beisl in der Naglergasse was not situated near any rtail station.
Visited three times. Food and service very nice. However I am very allergic to garlic. When Anna took care of us no problem. Sebastian did not and I have been vert sick since

How I miss this restaurant. During the 80's and 90's we had wonderful meals here with great service. So well located by the main train station and mid priced hotels!
My boyfriend and I dined at this restaurant last night and would not recommend it to any travellers. Aside from the 1.5 hour wait for our meals in the almost empty establishment the more offensive matter was that they were cold. We ordered the veal steak but were unsure if that was one of the meals we were actually served as it tasted very metallic. The service and wine were so so. If you do intend in dining here do not ask the waiters to recommend wine as they offered us only the cheapest bottle. Overall quite disappointing.

We had the best glass of wine in Vienna with ham and horse radish sandwiches. The cafe is classy even if it is on the side walk. I will go there any time Ill have an opportunity.

I came with a small tour group. The food was excellent, the wine even better. And for atmosphere this place cannot be matched! I loved it!

Food very regular, place very nice and waiters wraiting and making bills the way they feel..deciding their tips by them-selves, not serious.I definitly didn't like the way I was treated.I don't recomend it at all

Ate there last night, excellent cuisine and service 10/10. Was in a small party of 9 and even after arriving at different times the waiter showed patience and support assisting in a variety of languages. would eat there again and it has my high recommendation.

Keith, I'm not sure you went to the same restaurant I did. OK, it was about 3 months ago that I went there, but I was very impressed.

I was a little disappointed with this restaurant, having read the reviews before I went. The food was fine, but not outstanding. Service was no more than adequate. Definitely found better places. I give it a 7.

We just semi casually made a reservation for this place after reading rave reviews on chowhound. This is by far the most outstanding restaurant I have ever been in, and the service stellar, with no attiude. Simply well executed and all steps thought out from start to finish. Spectacular, though of course, a bit pricey!

Very good for the price (very affordable) one has to pay. Esterhazy pasta was quite spicy but delicious!

A real find. Faultless cooking and superb wines. Also enjoyed the Apricot schnapps. Walked it all off with a stroll round the Ringstrasse!

Excellent. We certainly put on a stone or two at this restaurant - but surely that's what holidays are for! Excellent wine too. Recommended.
