Sounds Poznan Festival 2007

Thu 9th
Aug

The Sounds Poznan Festival 2007 will feature stars of alternative electronic music such as master sampler Fatboy Slim, indie electro band Razorlight, plus names like Joss Stone, Damien Rice, Mina Agossi, and many others. The Sounds Festival is the youngest European music festival, and puts a spin on the traditional festival atmosphere. Instead of taking place in some muddy field miles from the city, it completely takes over Poznan's centre for three days, transforming the city into a backdrop for the festival's events. The festival also allows fans to see huge stars in smaller, more infinite venues than the normal gigantic stadiums or festival stages. And best of all, this festival is absolutely free! While bringing in some big names, the festival is actually focused on introducing lesser-known names to the general public, bringing in around a hundred smaller bands and performers from all over Europe for the weekend. The concerts take place in several locales, including a main stage near Lake Malta, as well as several clubs throughout the city centre, so be sure to check the festival's website for a full schedule and details.
