Month of Photography - Piroska Nagy

This exhibition offers a fascinating photographic glimpse of the turbulent events and key figures of the late 1980s in Hungary as the country - along with the rest of Eastern Europe - stumbled its way towards shaking off the yoke of communism and embraced democracy. All the photos in the exhibition were taken by American born Piroska Nagy, whose parents had emigrated from their native homeland in the 1950s. In 1984 Piroska enrolled as a fine arts student in the capital and from then on spent much of her time capturing the changing political landscape through her lens.
