As Amsterdams central railway station, Centraal stays busy day and night, connecting passengers to Schipol airport, nearby towns, and the rest of Europe. Short interval tickets (such as to the airport) are available at vending machines, but a regular ticket office is also inside the station. Outside on the Stationsplein, youll find a hub of trams, arriving to Centraal from across Amsterdam, so its easy to make your way to any corner of town from here. The Tourist Office is also here, as well as a GVB public transportation office where you can pick up a 24-hour tourist travel card. Amsterdam Centraal, and the square in front of it, will remain somewhat of a construction site until 2015 as works for the subway system continue.
