Christmas Fair

It's been 10 years since Vilnius became home of the International Christmas Bazaar, a charity event aimed at helping Lithuanian organizations serving children, women and the elderly in particular need. This year's edition will be taking place in the Town Hall (the Rotuse), under the patronage of Mrs Alma Adamkiene, former First Lady of Lithuania.

The event has been the unofficial start of the Christmas season. Each year embassies, international schools, prominent Lithuanians and hundreds of volunteers join IWAV members. Due to their efforts the International Christmas Charity Bazaar (ICCB) has raised 2.5 million Litas so far.

Hundreds of contributors help the organisers prepare hand-made crafts, souvenirs and Christmas treats for the Bazaar. These gifts are offered in exchange for a donation to the beneficiaries, who are carefully vetted and selected by the organising committee. Visitors to the event can participate in a lottery to win exciting prizes donated by sponsors, listen to Christmas music in a live concert and enjoy special activities for children as they search for unusual and traditional gifts from around the world.
