Brawling Big Bands

Sunday 26th March is the second edition of Brawling Big Bands in POPEI, organized by CKE and Vereniging Jazzworks Eindhoven. Brawling Big Bands is a big band competition for bands from the region.

On Sunday 26th of March it’s the time of the year again: Brawling Big Bands! After a successful first edition the audience and jury will choose who’s the best big band. The participating bands this year there will be Forest Lane, Groove Connexxion, Triple B, Pete’s Corner, Solid and Studentproof. Jazzband Take 6 will perform during the breaks of the event. Forest Lane is last year’s winner of the competition and will be there to defend their title. Triple B is playing songs like Tina Turner and Rock & Roll. The repertoire of Pete’s Corner consists of artists like Duke Hellington and Woody Herman, but also funk and disco music. Solid plays also famous songs of Duke Hellington and also Count Basie and Matt Harris. Studentproof is very interesting if you like jazz and funky fusion music and Groove Connexxion plays jazz, latin, funk and pop music. The event starts at 12.00 h and will end around 18.00 h. The entrance is free.
