One of the great things about travelling is stumbling across unexpected treasures - and Tony's is truly one of these. In the middle of the Vumba Forest, hardly in the tourist rush, is a very special place which celebrates coffee and cake in all their glory. Every day (with the exception of Mondays and Tuesday's when the shop is closed), Tony bakes fresh cakes and gateaux of the finest quality, and serves them up, beautifully decorated with exquisite forest flowers, together with fresh-roasted local coffee, which the Vumba is famous for. As remarkable for its unexpectedness as well as its quality, Tony's is an experience not to be missed. Tony himself is very welcoming to guests, happy to explain the day's cakes and coffee choices, and serve up the gathered wonders on classic porcelain in rather refined surroundings. It is not cheap, but like all good things, it is more than worth every cent. A revelation.
