The Black Gold

Peat, dubbed the Black Gold is a heterogeneous mixture of more or less decomposed plant material that has accumulated in a water-saturated environment and in the absence of oxygen. It is used in various therapies and beauty treatments.

When used in a mud wrap, peat can warm up and relieve aching body parts. No wonder then, that since Dr H. Hirschfeld introduced the “wonder mud” to Kołobrzeg, it has become one of the city’s greatest resources, promoting its name in Poland and abroad.
