Museum of Martyrs

To give it its full name - The Museum of Struggle and Martyrdom - the permanent exhibition at the Palace hotel tells the story of the Podhale Torture House, which during the second world war became the local base of the Gestapo. In those times, the building housed a jail, interrogation room... and equipment for the restraint, torture and murder of anyone, innocent or guilty, who strayed across the path of the Nazis. A chilling venue, come winter or summer, but one that keeps alive the memory of those murdered behind these walls.
