A Comeback

It has been 40 years since the artist Jan Jachymiak exhibited in Poland. In fact, it has been a long time since he created any of his trademark glass paintings.

Now living in Chicago, he has created new paintings for an exhibition at the Tatra Museum.

The exhibition will be an especially poignant homecoming, as Jachymiak – one of the first glass painters to emerge in Podhale after the war – lived in Zakopane before emigrating.
