Smigus Dyngus (Easter Monday)

Mon 25th
Apr

It's one of the pottiest days of the year, and it has its ups and downs. The ups are that we're still in public holiday territory. The downs? Hmmmm, that very much depends on your temperament. It's quite possible that you'll get assaulted by critters carrying pails of water today. For Smigus-Dyngus means that Poles are free to splash anyone they like with water. It goes back to medieval times, so you don't really have a leg to stand on if you don't want to join in. Great fun if you're a mischievous young miscreant, not to so fun if you're on your way to church dressed in your Sunday best. Our advice? Take a water pistol as back up...
