Insects of the Tatra Mountains & the Podhale region

If you're squeamish about bugs, then stay well clear of this exhibition, which presents over 500 varieties of insects and creepy-crawlies from the Highland region. The show takes in everything from butterflies to caterpillars, revealing the rich wealth of species at large in the area. The examples are all taken from the collection of the late naturalist Marian Bielewicz (1915-1988). While in the museum, don't miss the chance to check out the extraordinary series of pastel portraits by interwar legend Witkacy, who coincidentally was apt to incorporate insects into his psychedelic pictures.
