Rzasa - Together we look at the Trees

The Hasior Gallery is always worth a look. The Zakopane-based sculptor endures as one of the most engaging European artists of the post-war era. His fantastical sculptures would certainly have appealed to Magritte and the surrealists. Until late February, the otherworldly permanent exhibition is being complemented with another show, marking the close of Antoni Rzasa Year. This artist, who was closely associated with Hasior himself, was one of the most noted Polish sculptors during the sixties. He's also responsible for some of the enchanting, folkloric wooden tombs at Zakopane's Cemetery by Peksa's Brook (Cmentarz na Peksowym Brzyzku).
