Built in 1933 by the pre-WW II Polish world famous opera singer, Jan Kiepura, Patria was worth 3 million dollars. It its day it was a state of the art, luxurious facility, with lifts, central heating, a roof terrace, a luxurious revolving door and a telephone central. After WW II it was nationalized, as many other chic pensions in Krynica, and made a state-run health resort. Though a bit shabby today, Patria is still available for guests, and the alabaster and marble interiors never cease to please the eye. The facility offers a 1-3 day hotel lodging, or a longer stay for health restoration. SInce the place is a health resort, it is recommended for guests with dietary recommendations.
