Mountain Hikes?
We are in Krakow now and thinking of taking a bus to Zakopane. We are wondering if there are good hikes in close distance to the village of Zakopane. We won't have a car; also is the weather good there now. Thank you so much! Mountain Hikers from the US.

Hi there, of course, there area lot of trails , paths and hikes places in Zakopane Mountains.Those are mainly located in Tatra National Park. Those are located in Zakopane, and in Koscielisko(city closed to). You may of course get there by walk or by bus.Buses can bring you to the starting point to all those Hiking places for as little as 2,5 PLN for a ride. Now, it is possible to access to most of them since the 50 cm of snow that felt last week has melted for 1 week. The weather is a bit of all(sun-rain-cloud) and temperature by day around 5 degres celsius. You can get trails map from me if needed.And accomodation if you are looking for it in zakopane.Our residence is situated 10 mn walk from the entrance of the national Park and from the cabine station which brings to the highest peak of Zakopane(kasprowy wierch).If you are interested by a comfy accomodation for your group or if you have any queries, contact me at info@ogrodygorskie.pl

Thank you so much for all of the very timely info. We are just planning a couple-of-hours trip this time and won't need a place to sleep. But next time, we'll plan for a longer stay.
