54th Jazz nad Odrą (Jazz by the Odrą River)
Every spring since as far back as 1964 Jazz nad Odrą (Jazz by the Odrą River) presents the most interesting jazz artists from around the world - for years the festival has hosted real stars of European and world jazz, such as: Pat Metheny, Paco deLucia, Al diMeola, Kenny Garret, Dave Holland, Tooth Thielemans, Diana Krall, David Sanborn, Ron Carter, Lizz Wright and Patricia Barber.
You can also meet the most promising musicians of the young generation, including the winners of the DownBeat critics' poll in the category of new stars (in Wrocław they have hosted: Bad Plus, Jason Moran, Vijar Iyer, Rudresh Mahanthappa, Christian Scott, Lionel Lueke).
On the last day of April in Wroclaw- declared by UNESCO as World Jazz Day - we celebrate the World Day of Polish Jazz. In 2017, you could listen to, among others: Zbigniew Namysłowski, Leszek Możdżer, Piotr Wojtasik, Kuba Stankiewicz and Piotr Baron.
The World Jazz Day is a real musical marathon, whose participants can celebrate with great pomp from early afternoon to late evening.
The program of this year's edition of JnO will be announced soon. The Jazz Individual Competition 2018 is in progress. The oldest and most prestigious jazz competition in Poland can be attended by instrumentalists and vocalists who did not exceed 35 years of age during the festival. The winner of the Grand Prix - Jazz Individual of 2018 - will receive a prize of PLN 25,000 funded by the President of Wrocław; The Jury will also be distinguished by the best soloist, band and composer.
