If you are staying at the holiday inn hotel, you are within 5/10 mins walking distance from the main square/ wawel/ kazmirez, etc etc, it is much more enjoyable walking anyway.

As has already been said walking is easy between the Old Town and Kazimierz. Don't miss Podgorze either as this was the site of the Jewish Ghetto (part of the wall has been retained and the famous pharmacy Pod Orlem. Transport is cheap and one day two day and three day tickets can be purchased from machines at major stops and kiosks.

It is a good location. Everything is pretty much within walking distance. Enjoy!
