EtnoKraków Festival

The EtnoKraków Festival is an unprecedented combination of two international events dedicated to ethnic music: the Euroradio Folk Festival review organised by Polskie Radio and the European Broadcasting Union, and the Rozstaje / Crossroads Festival Kraków.

More than 200 musicians representing countries from four continents will perform at close to 50 concerts and dance nights in exceptional festival locations. An extensive programme includes performances by many international stars of ethnic music from Europe, South America, Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, as well as dancing, workshops and instrument fairs. All of this will be thanks to the cooperation of experienced and distinguished institutions that promote folk music: the Polskie Radio and the European Broadcasting Union, the Crossroads of Culture and Tradition Association, as well as the Krakow Festival Office and the City of Krakow.

Among the representatives of the international world music scene who will perform at the EtnoKraków Festival will be: Manou Gallo Groove Orchestra (Ivory Coast), Mbongwana Star International (Congo), Meridian Brothers (Columbia), Maria Kalaniemi (Finland), Kepa Junkera (Spain), Sayat Nova Ensemble (Armenia), Valentin Clastrier (France). The Polish folk music scene will also be represented by numerous performers. Visiting Krakow will be artists such as Warsaw Village Band in a transcontinental fusion with Mercedes Peón (Spain), pianist Piotr „Pianohooligan” Orzechowski with the concert “15 Studies for the Oberek”, Kwadrofonik and Adam Strug and Kapela Maliszów. A strong accent will be provided by the presentation of artists living and creating in Krakow, such as Kroke, the pioneers of the klezmer scene, Joanna Słowińska with the electro-folk project Archipelag2, or the pre-war punk group Hańba!.

Let’s meet at the Crossroads, let’s meet at the Euroradio Folk Festival.
