Tango Days: The Music of Piazzolla in Cracow (10th - 13th May 2007)

2 min read    0 comments

It's fifteen years now since Astor Piazzolla, the King of Tango, passed on. But his electrifying legacy has never been more popular. And if you've got a soft spot for the Argentine maestro, Christmas is coming early as Cracow will be hosting a three day tango fest under the honorary patronage of Carlos Alberto Passalaqua, Argentina's ambassador in Poland.

The event kicks off with a free performance of Piazzolla's classics at the grand Florianka Hall, where talents from the Cracow Music Academy will be levelling their joust at some nuevo tango. Over the following days, you can catch concerts - again many of them free of charge - at a range of atmospheric venues across the city. Look out for Kevin Kenner's closing concert on Sunday evening. See below for a full programme.
