Tour De France In Zakopane?

For years Zakopane has struggled to be taken seriously as a host for the Winter Olympics. But as the old saying goes, if at first you don't succeed try, try, try again. Or try hosting theTour de France perhaps...?

Yes, the unlikely news that Polska could be helping stage the Gallic bicyclette odyssey surprised Poles as much as it did Frenchmen. But Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza has revealed that an official bid for candidacy has been submitted by Cracow Mayor Jacek Majchrowski.

Technically, the bid is not as outlandish as it might as first seem. Three years ago, England hosted a leg of the legendary French showdown. So why can't the Poles have a crack of the whip?

Well, that's exactly what Cracow's mayor thinks, and a route has been proposed from Poland's former royal capital to Zakopane. Do the Poles stand a chance? Well, the latest news is that a meeting with Christian Prudhomme, the director of the Tour de France, is scheduled before the end of the year. Bonne Chance Zakopane!

That is very funny. So, I would advise the Cracow mayor to meet the Director of Tour de France with the same Citronowka that he drank a lot or drank with some beer also, before having that idea...and maybe after few Na Zdrowie around a table full of Oscypek and polish traditional dishes, the French man could be charmed and decide to bring the Zabojat to the Goral.Very Good luck to Polska .As said Alexandre Dumas"you may target to reach the moon but in case you fail, you will still stand back in the stars"after maybe having hurted a cosmos stone by falling down on your head Mayor.Pa teraz
