Pole Conquers Himalayan Peaks

On 27th April, climber Piotr Pustelnik reached the peak of Mount Annapurna, rounding off a high-altitude odyssey that has seen him scale all the fourteen key peaks of the Himalayan range. He's the 21st climber in history to have accomplished the feat.

The Polish mountaineer had already attempted Annapurna four times, in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008, making yesterday's triumph doubly sweet.

Pustelnik was joined in his quest by Slovak Peter Hamor, the only climber to have scaled Annapurna twice. When not conquering the world's highest mountains, Pustelnik is a doctor of Chemistry at the Lodz Polytechnic.
