Poland’s Euro Hopes Crushed

Wroclaw has hosted the final game for Polands national team as part of the UEFA Euro 2012 championships, which are now taking place across Poland and Ukraine. After several hard fought matches, Polands hopes to progress out of the Group stage were crushed following a 0-1 defeat with the Czech Republic at a match in Wroclaws Municipal Stadium.

In a surprise turn of events, Russia also failed to qualify for the quarter-finals, which means that only Greece and the Czech Republic will progress from Group A.

Fellow host country Ukraine have also failed to reach the quarter-finals, following a loss to England - who, along with France, will continue from Group D.

Wroclaws Municipal Stadium will not be hosting any further matches as part of the Euro, but the Fan Zone on the Market Square will remain open until the final on 1 July.
