Films in Five Dimensions

3D films may be all the rage these days, but they are still 2Ds less than Wroclaw's upcoming 5D cinema which opens Wednesday. The claim behind the 5D phenomenon is the fact that movie-goers are able to experience films with each of their five senses. Apart from stunning audio and 3-D visuals, a 5D cinema also replicates the experiences of wind, water, heat, and smell. In addition, the cinema's seats rock and shake alongside the action going on on screen.

The technology behind 5D makes it an ideal vehicle for nature-themed films, and, unsurprisingly, the kids love it. At Wroclaw 5D cinema you'll be able to watch short films about dinos, tsunamis, as well as the Brendan Fraser feature film Journey to the Centre of the Earth, based on the Jules Verne novel.

Visit the Extreme 5D cinema at Wroclaw's Magnolia Park from 20 October 2010.
