National Music Forum to Open in 2012

Wroclaw will be the home to one of Europe's most prestigious concert calls in the autumn of 2012, when the planned National Music Forum is set to open. A ceremony laying its foundation took place in September at its location on Wolnosci Square.

The National Music Forum will be comprised of several spaces centred around the 1800-capacity concert hall including chamber halls, conference and exhibition spaces, as well as a recording studio, library, and book store. The Forum is set to become the new home of the Wroclaw Philharmonic Orchestra, the Wroclaw Philharmonic Choir, the Wroclaw Chamber Orchestra Leopoldinum, the Wroclaw Baroque Orchestra, and the Lutoslawski Quartet. Many music festivals will be based at the Forum as well including Wrasitlavia Cantans and Musica Electronica Nova.
