Priceless 1510 picture of Lucas Cranach the Elder, 'Madonna under the fir tree', one of the most precious pieces of Renaissance art missing from Poland after WW II has been returned to Wroclaw by mysterious benefactor after 65 years of absence and is now on display at the Archdiocesan Museum. The origin of the painting, its unbelievable war fate and mysterious reappearance at the international arena - all this deserves attention, atop of the author's mastery in painting.
