'AleGloria' is the word that has got gastronomes in a spin in Warsaw right now. The brainchild of enigmatic designer, Magda Gessler, AleGloria is the kind of five-star restaurant that Warsaw needs if it is to be considered a player in World haute cuisine. Symbolists will have a strawberry field day interpreting the almost exclusively red and white decor (the Polish national colours? Pleasure and purity? Life and afterlife?), whilst gourmands will be intoxicated by decadent dishes such as pink duck breast in rose sauce, served with spicy strawberry salad (spot the recurring theme?). All-in-all an unforgettable experience!
