National Museum Prepares for Re-Opening

Warsaw's National Museum, the country's premier art destination, is preparing to open its doors after a year of extensive renovations. The museum has updated its entire look as well as its approach to displaying artworks in an attempt to attract a wider variety of audiences.

Amongst the works undertaken at the museum has been a new colour for the museum's walls (blue), a completely new electrical system, new lighting in exhibition rooms, and an overall deep cleaning of the premises. The museum also adopted a new logo from a design competition which took place over the last year.

The museum will show off its new look to invited guests on 17 May, displaying some permanent and temporary exhibitions. More sections of the museum will be opened in the following weeks.

The public will have a chance to check out the newly renovated exterior of the building and take a walk around the square and gardens in front of the main entrance on 18 May.

On 19 May, the National Museum will open its doors to the public as part of Warsaw's Museum Night.
