Reviews about Estonian Restaurants in Tallinn

I lived in Moscow for many years and often went to Tallin to renew my Russian. visa., I chose Tallin so that I could enjoy a meal at my favourite garlic restaurant! I have had the opportunity to eat here 8 times over 20 years and can't wait for my next visit!

The ED due to that surgery can be either temporary or permanent. He is content, and the opposite of our thoughts senior years has in store for us.

Very nice restaurant and good service. Wild boar can be recommended. I also liked the ice-cream with common sea-buckthorn sauce.

After reading the review, we went straight to the restaurant and were able to confirm that this place is wonderful. Great food, atmosphere and service. We returned and suggested it to others. Thanks for the review. A great place to eat in Tallinn.

We were recommended this restaurant at Liverpool Airport by another traveller. We were not disappointed, We booked for our first evening in Tallinn, the food was lovely and the place took you back in time, we had been told it was a little more pricey but found it to compare well with other meals we had at different venues. We want to go back to Estonia and would go to the restaurant again!

This restaurant was fantastic. Eel for starter, rabbit for main and a cheese platter for dessert were amazing as were the two complimentary courses in between courses. Wonderful atmosphere. This food is exciting.

This little gem soon became favourite in our 7 day stay in Tallinn over Christmas. Hearty, homely food served with a smile. It may not be fancy, but if you'd like to try Estonian food - Vanaema Juures is for you. And the prices are very pleasant as well!

Oh boy the Galaxy is opening soon! Don't miss this place. Years ago it was one of the best places for a steak and the piquant egg plant was OUTSTANDING!! Of course the view made it worth it; you might even see Finland!

Galaxy

Have been here a few times. It's the best tasting and the service is outstanding. The decor is a little lame (the seating is even uncomfortable!). However, each bite is an explosion of tastes. Too bad the ratings don't have an 11!

I have read numerous good reviews of this restaurant, this review is not one of those I ordered what was described on the menu as " thick pea soup " - what I got was something that resembled a type of watery broth with barley, carrots , onion and yes peas ( but of the chick variety ). To say that I was disappointed would be an understatement. Being in a restaurant that served typical Estonian food I decided to try something different for my main meal and opted for the wild boar with a mushroom sauce. disappointment again - it arrived in what can only be described as a thick mushroom stew. If only my pea soup was that thick For the curious amongst you I cannot tell you what wild boar tastes like because its taste was completely masked by the mushroom sauce. The waitress service - can be summed up by what follows :- My brother in law also ordered the boar' but his came with an added extra in the form of the bullet that killed it. Take it from me this was no small pellet, it was at least the size of a marble, which he nearly swallowed. Naturally he pointed this out to a very dimissive waitress whose only comment was " It's a wild animal what do you expect " . On asking to speak to the manager she said that he did not work on a Friday night and that was that". We then asked if we could speak to the chef and this was also refused. All we wanted was a simple sorry it should not have happened and that would have been the end of the matter. From that moment on she never came near our table other than to give us the bill.
