Folk music is as important as story-telling in some parts of the world, drawing on oral traditions that are in some cases many thousands of years old, and continuing to develop over the centuries. Today it's still a phenomenally popular genre, as wide perhaps as jazz, and Upe is where to find one of the biggest collections in Riga.
