Riga is a port city, and the restaurant Ostas Skati (Harbour Views) is on a spit of land projecting into the Daugava River - not surprising then that the menu is big on fish and seafood. Salmon, catfish, bass, bream, flounder, all prepared to the chefs' own recipes, could be said to be the centrepieces. There are other options too, including meat, poultry and salads, and everything is at what the restaurant likes to call 'democratic' prices. In truth, it's not a very expensive place to get a snack or even a meal, given the location and the quite beautiful views. Good for couples, families or a get together with friends.
