In the space of just one summer week, the names Fresh Blood and Shocking Asia appeared on the programme at Melna Piektdiena, which should give a fair indication of the kind of place this is. It is definitely not for the faint-hearted or the classically obsessed, and it's a fair bet that you won't find yourself dancing the night away to Abba or Joss Stone.
Instead, expect guitar heavy live shows, battle of the band competitions indiscriminately long hair for the boys and the girls, and sounds that start with metal and just get harder as the night progresses.
