Kiwi Bar
Editor's review
It's a long way from home for the New Zealanders operating the Kiwi Bar in the heart of Riga's old town, but their presence gives a truly authentic feel to a pub that's all about sports, banter and partying. The Kiwi has its own menu for guests, but also enjoys a fine relationship with the Indian Raja restaurant next door. More than just a bar and a few chairs, the layout of the Kiwi was designed with special attention to detail to ensure that guests can mingle easily and get to know each other, whether they are cheering on their rugby, football or ice hockey team, or simply keen to meet Riga locals and tourists.

Friendly folk always ready with a smile - and a beer! Perfect place for watching sports.

Kiwi bar is the place I always end up when going out. It is friendly, easy to get in touch with others, though primarily non-Latvians. Don't come for the food (if you must I would suggest the chicken sandwich) but for the beer. They serve a nice draught of Guinness if that is your thing! Kiwi is without a doubt the best pub in town, placed right in the middle of Old Town.
