Riga Named As Cheapest City For Travellers

A survey by www.hotels.com has claimed that the Latvian capital offers the best value trip for UK travellers.

According to the investigation, low cost accommodation averages out best in Riga, with the average price of a room there 52 pounds, a 7 percent drop since last year.

At the other end of the scale, Geneva is top of the pops, with visitors having to fork out an average 147 pounds per room.

Apparently, Abu Dhabi has been the worst hit by the financial crisis, with rates dropping by 35 percent over the last 12 months. Likewise, Reykjavik experienced a 14 percent drop, making it a intriguing prospect for those in search of wondrous waterfalls and the culinary delights of rotten shark.
