The name may not leap out at you as the most familiar in the world, but the late Latvian painter Boriss Berzins (1930-2002) had a distinguished career, exhibiting at home and abroad (he won 2nd and 3rd prize at the the UK's International Exhibition of Drawings in 1979 and 1983 respectively).
