Latvia Sports Museum
Editor's review
Latvia has only ever won two gold medals at the Olympic Games, as an independent nation. Those were for cycling (Maris Strombergs, in Beijing 2008)and gymnastics (Igors Vihrovs, in Sydney 2000). Nevertheless, it's a nation that gets as passionte about sport as anyone else, as this museum demonstrates. The exhibitions are very much flying visits, often arranged around different themes, but it's an interesting place to spend an hour if you can spare the time and are the kind of person who starts reading the newspaper from the back.
