New Year's Eve in Prague

Sun 31st
Dec

Along with Krakow, Prague is one of the best cities in the world to be on New Year's Eve. In addition to all the beautiful men and women around to grab your New Year's kiss from, there are several spots in the city to catch a brilliant fireworks display at midnight. Before the fireworks, however, you may want to find a spot to share a romantic New Year's dinner - or a pub to share a few pre-champagne pints ñ and reservations are highly recommended.

Once you're ready to count down to the next year, you can try to find a spot by the Vltava River, including at any of the river restaurants (but be sure to make a reservation far in advance), the river cruises (ditto), on and around the Charles Bridge, and up high on Petrin Hill and at Prague Castle, all of which are likely to be crowded but a bit calmer. Alternatively, the Old Town Square is where the massive party is at, where revelers holding champagne await the midnight show, then stumble off to the nearby clubs to continue the celebrations. No matter where you end up in Prague on New Year's Eve, you're guaranteed a good time - until the next morning's hangover, at least.
