New A2 Motorway Links Poznan with Berlin

The newest addition to Poland's quickly expanding motorway network, the A2, has opened for business linking Poznan to the German border. This new portion of the highway will reduce travel time between Poznan and Berlin by a startling two hours.

This new portion of the A2 will join the already completed portions leading up to the city of Lodz. The goal is to finish the remainder of the motorway all the way up to Warsaw by the EURO 2012 Championships. Eventually, the plan is for the A2 to stretch across Poland completely from west to east along the Belarusian border.

The new stretch of the A2 will be open free of charge until 21 May 2012.
