Well-known locally but an offbeat stop for visitors, this worthwhile art, design, and history museum integrates education and research into its mission. The best example of this are its free Friday night tours starting at 6pm, which delve into either the permanent or special exhibitions on display. The aesthetically-pleasing exterior dates back to the 1930s as the Washington Storage Company building, and the interior reflects the same design emphasis. Don’t miss the gift shop, which is full of quirky tchotchkes and also functions as a fantastic bookstore and cafe.
